Question: My right foot seems like it is going to sleep, not numb just the precursor to numb. It doesn't ever actually go to sleep. This is a new sensation. It doesn't vary during the day or during exercise In fact the whole lower leg seems to be "tight", but not painful at all..My knee is also "tight" but no pain.

Hi,

It's possible that you may be feeling tightness due to arthritis of the knee especially if there is pain on bending knee, cross leg sitting or kneeling.

Sciatic nerve entrapment can lead to paraesthesia as you have described as the leg falling asleep.

I suggest you do get a Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) test to look for any problem in the function of the Sciatic nerve.

Avoid sitting for long hours on hard stools or chairs. Perform hip strengthening exercises.
