What Causes Transient Blurring Of Vision?

Question: my son complained about blurriness on the perifere around the edges of the eyes .. left one seemed worse. this lasted 10 - 20 minutes then was OK. It has been 3 hours and this has not returned. I'm quite worried. Can you help?
