Question: I've been having trouble breathing and have been coughing. I was put on an antibiotic because the doctor thought it was a chest infection as I'd had it previously and this had cleared it up. This helped a bit but now it just seems like the antibiotics are making me cough. I would have a clear chest but then I would feel this pressure building up and then have a coughing fit. It feels like there's a blockage or something at the bottom of my lungs that hurts and feels like it's hard to breathe. I'm a 22 year old male. About 100kgs. 180cm. Any ideas what it could be?

Your symptoms are suggestive of Reactive Airways Disease which is common after a bout of respiratory tract infection. Do you have any kinds of allergy since this is commonly seen in people with allergies where their airways are sensitive and hyperreactive.

Having said that, your weight is a cause for concern. Hence I suggest you have a complete check up which should include a chest x ray and a spirometry.

You will need inhalers like aerocort and seroflo along with other anti allergics like montair lc. Consult your local pulmonologist for a complete check up and advice on medicines.
