Hello,XXXXXX

Thank you for consulting with healthcaremagic.

This is Dr. Dipti Singh here to answer your query.

Actually it is not necessary that any ulcer which is occurring in the mouth is herpes or HIV ulcer. If an ulcer appear in the mouth first you should think of the most common ulcer, which is an aphthous ulcer.
This aphthous ulcer can occur becsuse of any allergy, stress or other conditions. These ulcers are recurrent also means can occur 2 to 3 times an year , slightly painful and heal within 7 -10 days.
Whereas herpes ulcers are multiple in number and very small pin point ulcers, can collase and form large ulcers. Even they start with fever also and very painful to touch.
Even the picture you have attached it looks like an aphthous ulcer only.

You should wait for 7-10 days for ulcer to heal. Just apply an topical anesthetic ointment on them. And if it does not heal after that also then you should visit a good dentist to get it completely examined and treated,
Hope it will help you.
Thank you.
