What Causes Uneven Belly Fat Distribution Post Gall Bladder Removal?
Question: is it possible to have uneven belly fat distribution around the belly button a year after gallbladder removal that was done through the belly button? I work out a lot but my tummy is uneven and yucky now
Brief Answer:
Hernia has to be ruled out.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
During Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, port will be introduced into the abdomen after incision at Bellybutton. After surgery, fat can enter into the incision site causing Hernia. It may look uneven there . Chances of Incisional hernia are more common after strenuous exercises as it increases the intra abdominal.pressure.Ultrasound abdomen will confirm the diagnosis.
Uneven distribution of fat is common in the tummy area.If Ultrasound abdomen is normal, then Liposuction will the only option to change the uneven distribution of fat.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.

Is it dangerous? Would I be in pain? I'm not in pain clothes fit fine
Brief Answer:
Hernia can get complicated in later stages.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
In Hernia, Fat will enter into the sac first and present as swelling. Later, small bowel enters leading to increase in the size of the swelling. Initially, bowel gets reduced in lying down posture or after application of pressure. In course of time, it get Obstructed and strangulated leading to dangerous complications. Pain will be present when the structures get obstructed or strangulated.
In my opinion, you should get an Ultrasound abdomen first and rule out Hernia.
If you come back with Ultrasound report, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
