Brief Answer:
Please find details below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. There is continuous normal low intensity electrical activity which is present in the brain at all times.

2. Sometimes there is a sudden surge in electrical activity and this causes a seizure.

3. Such an electrical activity might happen due to many causes including
(i) fever
(ii) infection in the brain
(iii) after a head injury
(iv) after taking medicines
(v) congenital and birth related problems
(vi) bleeding or clot in the brain
(vii) due to electrolyte imbalance and dehydration

Most of the causes are not hereditary.

4. When a positive finding is found on the CT scan and EEG then that cause is to be treated.

5. In the absence of a confirmed cause, doctors might recommend observation for similar episodes and then followed by MRI scan brain which might be done probably within a day of the next episode. This needs to be followed by detailed neurology examination and any medicines to control more episodes. Please record the next seizure on a XXXXXXX phone camera and show it to your doctor to understand the seizure activity accurately.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
