Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
Hello & thank you for submitting your question.

The symptoms you describe may be seen in a variety of clinical conditions. It will be important to follow up with your endoscopist/GI doctor for the results of his endoscopic examination and results of pathology from biopsy. Integration of the results from the endoscopic and pathologic examinations will hopefully help identify the cause of your change in bowel habits. Other considerations in addition to irritable bowel syndrome include microscopic colitis (collagenous colitis or lymphocytic colitis) as well as idiopathic etiologies.

Yours in good health,
Dr Galamaga
