Question: i think I may have strep with a cold and upper chest pain. I became sick suddenly Saturday morning with coughing, drainage, pain in my face neck and chest. i have coughed so much is now difficult to breathe. I had bronchitis & pneumonia last year and do not want it again. i have constant drainage and chills on and off. thank you for helping me.

Bronchitis is common after upper respiratory tract infection. And your symptoms like cough, chest pain, mucus expectoration, breathing difficulty etc are more suggestive of bronchitis.
So you should consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
PFT will not only diagnose bronchitis but it will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment is based on severity only.
You will need antibiotic like azithromycin, inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (budesonide or fluticasone).
