What Causes Urinary Incontinence Post A Prostate Surgery?

Neuromuscular stimulation
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
urinary incontinence is one of the commonest complications post prostate surgery. This incontinence is well managed conservatively with Pelvic floor exercises like Kegel exercises. This technique may take time to show some response.
If kegel exercises fail to reduce the incontinence in a period of 3 months, then you can opt for neuromuscular stimulation. In here muscle of the pelvic floor are stimulated with mild electric current. This is an add on to the Kegel exercises.
Next mode of treatment is surgery, where a artificial sphincter is created or a sling surgery is performed. The response is good but failure rates are high.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
