What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Contraceptive Pills?
Question: my wife had taken emergency contraceptive pills on 10th Nov within 72 hrs. of an unprotected sex and she had experienced vaginal bleeding / periods around 14th-16th of Nov. though her regular period occurs on 25th/26th of each month. This month her periods are yet to take place. What could be the possible reasons ?
Brief Answer:
due to progesterone
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir, this bleeding was just because of the effect of progesterone in emergency pill.
If the bleeding stayed for 2-3 days with average flow then this will be her regular period only and she might not get any periods around 26th.
So just do a urine pregnancy test on 26th to rule out unwanted pregnancy.
There can be a slight irregularities in her periods for a couple of months but will be fine soon after that.
Take care.

I wanted to know when her periods are likely to take place in this month i.e Dec. The urine preg. test done on 16 Dec is negative.
Brief Answer:
urine pregnancy test around 26th
Detailed Answer:
She might get periods around 26th as well but irrespective of periods do a urine pregnancy test on 26th dec and then see for results.
