default
Posted on Sat, 31 Jan 2015
Question: Hi, i am 27 weeks pregnant and had some bleeding 2 days back which stopped in a couple of hours. The ultrasound showed no cause of bleeding, cervix length 4.3 cm and anterior placenta 3.8 cm superior to internal os. Also, I dont have any abdominal pains. However my doctor has prescribed duvidalan 40mg twice a day, susten 100mg once a day and taxim o 200 mg twice a day. Please tell me if these medicines are required, I am specially worried about duvidalan as it is banned in a few countries.

Brief Answer:
all medicines needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX I understand your health concerns.
All these medicines are definitely required and you should take them in prescribed dosage.
Duvadilon will be given only for short term basis and will be stopped soon.
It is banned in certain countries but is a category B drug which means benefits outweigh risk.
It has no major side effects if taken in prescribed doses and under supervision.
Just take ample rest and wish you all the best for rest of pregnancy.
