What Causes Vaginal Bleeding In A 10 Month Old?
Question: While changing my 10 month old daughters diaper I noticed a small patch of blood on her diaper. I attempted to clean her off and noticed dark blood on the inside of her vaginal opening. There is not much blood, but the blood in general causes me great concern. I've paged her pediatrician & after an hour he's not gotten back w/me. She has been fine all day, physically,& is currently asleep, but my question is, should I take her to Children's Hospital Emergency?
Brief Answer:
Observe the baby if needed take her to emergency
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for asking on this platform
I can understand your concern.
Small amount of clotted blood in vagina can be due to unnoticed trauma.
I won't get worried if there is no active bleed, baby us active, playful and passing urine normally.
I would like to observe her for any active bleed or any other significant symptoms.
If you find some abnormality get her to the emergency.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
Wishing for your baby's good health.
Regards
