What Causes Vaginal Bleeding Post Prolapsed Polyp Removal?
Question: I have not had a period in over 5 years. 3 weeks ago I had a prolapsed polyp that had to be removed. I went for my post op visit 5 days ago and everything was ok. It seems now that I have started my period. Is this normal or should I be worried?

I am unsure if this for real represents a normal period. I will suggest that you go head and treat it as if it were a normal period. At the end of the cycle, the duration and nature of the flow would help us towards identifying the possible significance of this per vaginal bleeding.
If it should stop within 7days and of moderate volumes, then this is likely to be menses and there is no reason to get worried. However, if the bleeding persists even longer, ask the doctors to get this checked out as it may be related to the surgery or something else and would not represent menses.
In all,, should it be in small volumes and stop within 7days, it could be your menses. Otherwise, it would be unlikely and further examination and investigation to establish the cause would be considered.
