What Causes Vaginal Infections And Abdominal Bloating After Insertion Of IUD?
Question: Hi, I have had a paraguard IUD for about 5 years now. Since the insertion of the IUD I have experience in increase in vaginal infections (either yeast or vaginosis) and extreme almost daily bloating. Coudl it just be that my body chemistry does not mess with the copper IUD? The constant infectiosn and horrible bloating (even with an elimantion diet of diary, sugar, carbs, raw veggies, carbonated drinks) does not help. I'm at a loss and feel horrible.

Please remove your IUD.

What is the reason for it? Is it that my body chemistry doesn't jive with the copper or is it more likely there is bacteria on the IUD that is causing the infection and bloating?

Either of them may be the cause.
