What Causes Vaginal Lumps Post Intercourse?

default
Posted on Tue, 14 Nov 2017
Question: last week while having sex I experienced a stinging sensation inside my vagina. When I inspected the area the next morning I realized I had a cut or tear inside of my vagina. I also noticed quite a few flesh colored lumps, I do not know if these have always been there or not. I am afraid it is genital warts, but I haven't found any pictures that really look like my bumps. Two questions:

How can I get the cut to heal faster? It is very painful, especially when urinating.

How do I know what these lumps are? I have an gynecologist appointment next week, but I am very nervous about this and don't want to wait.

Please help

Brief Answer:
Advice to follow up with gynecologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thak you for trusting HCM

Vaginal tear/cut as a result of sex will heal in about 7-10 days.
Here are few things you can try to help with healing and pain
-Keep the area clean and dry.
-Wear loose fitting breathable cotton undergarments.
-You can use sitz bath with warm water twice daily
-You can take advil 400 mg 4 times daily to help with pain.

It is difficult to give an exact cause for the bumps you noticed without doing a clinical examination. So, please be advised to follow up with your gynecologist for necessary evaluation. I will provide you some of the reasons for vaginal/genital bumps here
-Genital herpes (blisters, pain, and redness will be present)
-Fordyce spots: flesh colored bumps which will go away on iys own, they arise from sebaceous gland
-Genital warts due to human papillomavirus infection
-Vaginal skin tags
Pelvic/vaginal examination is needed to confirm the cause.

Hope this answers your question
