What Causes Vaginal Spotting With History Of Hysterectomy And Oophorectomy?
Question: I had a hysterectomy and oophrectomy 8 yrs ago. I have noticed brown stained underwear for about two years and recently went to ER with XXXXXXX blood in urine. treated for uti but am still staining with pain in perineal area. also have calloused palms and heels but am basically sedentary due to joint pain and no insurance on doctor at this point. Have had lumbar and cervical spine fusions but my lower joints in both thumbs are hurting most. Chronic back pain is normal but bothersome as well. I am taking no meds except advil.

In my opinion pain in the perinial area and brownish discharge might be evaluated for:-
1)Urethral caruncle:- Here what happens is in postmenopausal women due to atrophic vulva and vagina urethral opening is exposed to infection and resulting in pain ,discharge and urinary tract infection.
2)You might need to get an vault examination done to rule out any abnormality causing brown discharge.
My aim is not to make you tense but chronic brown discharge in a hysterectomized women needs to exclude any malignancy.
Honestly, I don't diagnose you with this condition; but it's definitely worth evaluation in these lines since there are many matching symptoms.
Usually in females osteoporosis starts after menopause ie.,around 47 to 52 years of age.But having been undergone hysterectomy 8 years back ie.,42 years osteoporosis might have started earlier than usual.
Osteoporosis and spinal fusion might be the cause for all joint pains and also in thumbs .
Due to spine fusion the nerves will be damaged leading to neuropathy ie.,loss of sensation. This neuropathy will lead to callus formation in pressure bearing areas in palms and soles.
Osteoporosis is the condition where in the bones will be resorbed due to less calcium.
So you might need to increase the intake of calcium through diet by taking foods rich in calcium and also taking calcium tablet daily.
Its not advisable to take advium because long term intake causes gastritis and nephrotoxicity.
So I suggest you to see a gynaecologist to rule out the causes for pain and discharge in the perineal area.
Also get an advice from orthopaedician for the joint pains .
