What Causes Vibrating Sensations Behind The Calf Of The Left Leg?
Here are some possibilities.
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear ! Thank you for posting your question to HCM.
There could be a lot of reasons for such "vibrating " sensation in your left leg calf region, I'll explain below :
- An electrolyte imbalance of calcium and potassium ( low potassium and/calcium ), sometimes it cause by side effect of medication ( diuretics - water pill) or after vomiting , diarrhoea, kidney dysfunction... in this case need to check the electrolytes by doing a simple blood test for the electrolytes.
-When you over use the muscle, sometimes our muscles undergo stress and become very tired/fatigued after we use them and in the end a have the "vibrating "feeling . In this case, when you rest the feeling in your leg will gradually go away.
- A muscle strain , a pinched or a damaged nerve . If you had a bad movement with your leg or a trauma, it happens . You nerves that command the muscle get damaged (neuropathy)and sometimes gives wrong sensation like vibrating, numbness , tingling . This needs neurological examination to see the nerve function.
Meanwhile keep yourself well hydrated, take ample rest and if the "vibrating "sensation still don't go away or gets worse simply get an appointment with your local doctor . He /She will do some blood tests, examine your nerve and muscle function to confirm the diagnosis and according to the result help with a proper treatment.
Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any further clarifications I'll be happy to help.
