What Causes Visible Veins On Legs, Arms And Feet?
Few tests / assessment by a Psychologist
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for query and an elucidate history and understanding.
I read and re-read the history.
I would get some information- to recapitulate :47 / female - not in menopause- 6 months- Visible and prominent veins and loosing tissues, visible tendons and thin wrinkly skin - loss of weight to regain 5 kg- sensory disturbance with more bulge of veins- your thinking that the body is deteriorating- blood tested- Doctor's opinion and your acceptance ...
The visible and more prominent veins, visible tendons, think wrinkly skin are obviously due to loss of fat and weight. The relevant blood tests are normal.
I would suggest you the following: (If not yet done)
Thyroid function tests.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen
X-ray of the chest.
-these are just screening tests to rule out any other obvious pathology, which may be a reason for your problems.
-Even an assessment by a Psychologist is not a bad idea as you are 47 years of life and the routine age related changes, problems may be there as everyone has in this period of life. Mild anxiolytic / antidepressants help to recover in some cases as seen in practice.
Yes, obviously one has to get adjusted to the changes, no one is going to be an exceptions.
I hope this answer helps at least in part to tackle the new problems you are having, please feel free to discuss more if you need to.
Wishing you a great life!
My metabolism is normal, and I have now looked up the other symptoms of thyroid problems, the symptoms do not seem to apply to me. But of course there are other issues that I did not mention. I have PCOS - and trouble sleeping for many years. Might that have an influence on my skin/veins/connective tissue etc? I do not treat PCOS, I did once with the birth control pill Diane Mite. With my currant symptoms I have developed an intolerance to heat.
I am seing a psycologist and working as best I can through my body and self acceptance issues.
But if I in any way - other than what I am doing now - can contribute to diminishing my symptoms, I'll do what it takes. I am walking, weightlifting, doing a bit of yoga, eating well and plenty ( I now weigh 57 kg - 172 cm of height), I try to relax, treat myself and my body with positive thoughts and action.
Is there any other action I can take? Why x ray of chest and ultrasonic of abdomen?? My doctor seems to think there are no more tests he can do, if I am to convince him of more testing I need to be able to tell him why (here in Denmark the doctors are for free, therefore maybe the limited testing...)
I am seing an ayurvecic doctor who has prescribed homeopathic medicine and I am also seeing an acupuncturist who does hz acupuncture on me...
To '' rule-out'' medical problems which may be related.

Hi.
Thanks for your feedback and thoughts.
There may not be classical symptoms of thyroid problems, yet it should be done : Free T3, Free T4 and TSH, sample sent when you are on empty stomach.
Noted the history of seeing Psychologist, PCOS not under treatment, trouble sleeping for many years and intolerance to heat.
Please continue the other efforts you have mentioned. They may help.
X-ray chest and ultrasound is done as a routine investigations in persons who have similar symptoms to rule out any diseases which can give to the symptoms you have. These tests can show some positive findings to get a clue and negative reports ''rule-out' some disorders; so these should be done.
Yes, the medical systems are different in different countries , but the ways to get a diagnosis remains same all over the world. Ultrasonography will give review the conditions of ovaries also.
Why should an Ayurvedic Doctor prescribe Homeopathic medicines? Continue acupuncture.
