Posted on Thu, 4 Aug 2016
Question: My wife (age 72) spent over an hour outside this morning. It is very hot here in NJ. After she came in she ate a normal breakfast (I ate the same thing without difficulty). About two hours later she vomitted and again after another hour. There appear to be no other symptoms except fatigue. What can I do for her?

Brief Answer:
Offer her fluids to drink only.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what your wife is experiencing. She probably got dehydrated and that’s what explains most of these symptoms. I will suggest that you go on with fluid replacement by offering more fluids to drink. Also, measure her blood pressure and pulse and report to me.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask of more information and clarifications if need be.
