What Causes Vomiting, Nausea, Fever And Peeling Of Skin On The Face?
Question: Hello, My 16 year old daughter had vomiting, nausea and fever (100F) on Friday. Today, Sunday, she started to peel on her face: forehead, cheeks, chin; and palms. She does not have red irritated skin. She does not have a sore throat. We assumed it was flu or 24 hour stomach virus. Any ideas?
Brief Answer:
Possible Viral exanthem.Require inpatient monitoring
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir
I can certainly understand your concern.
This could possibly be a viral exanthem illness.
It's important to get her screened for Dengue Fever and Scrub typhus group of viral illnesses.
Additionally, it's also important to start oral antibiotics and Antipyretics at the earliest.
It's very important to admit your child for close monitoring in a sophisticated health center under supervision of an expert paediatrician.
This is to monitor the skin peeling closely and to administer appropriate drugs that does not cause skin reactions.
