What Causes Vomiting, Weakness And Sickness After Eating Restaurant Food?

Question: I ate at a restaurant on Monday evening and within 11/2 hours after eating less than half of a 6oz. steak, some french fries and a portion of broccoli, I began to get stomach distress and by 11 Pm, I was vomiting. I vomited again at 1AM and was so weak the next day I could eat nothing and could do nothing but sleep all day long. I slept the next night also and got up Wed. morning feeling good enough to do some minor chores. Today, I am feeling weak again. I am wondering if the food I ate might have been contamianated. I am not a person who gets sick more than once every 5 years or so. I haven't had the flu for more than 10 years. I don't know what is going on in my body. I don't take any meds at all. My name is XXXXXXX Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Food poisoning.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
This sounds like food poisoning. So the food could not be fresh enough. Your symptoms are caused by some infection caused by this food. Most of such infections do not need medical attention and goes away by theirs own. If you do not have vomiting and diarrhea now, most likely you are getting better. It may take a week or so for the gastrointestinal tract to get back to normal. To help with this process, please start probiotic intake (it can be natural yogurt as well).
If the symptoms wont get better in next few days, please consult your doctor.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
