What Causes Water Leakage Through Vagina During Pregnancy?
or no ?
Need medical attention.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Right now, you need to do certain things-
1. Do not move about, take bed rest with foot end elevation.
2. Wear a sanitary pad to watch for the amount of leakage.
3. Do not exert. Do not douche.
Most importantly, inform your consultant immediately and get help. The presence of liquor in the discharge can be tested by use of nitrazine papers, wherein a color change indicates the presence of liquor.
Small leaks usually seal off spontaneously while larger ones do not and delivery becomes inevitable. As you are almost term, you need not worry. With good monitoring facilities, delivery at this stage should be uneventful. Please maintain genital hygiene to avoid any infection.
Fetal monitoring should be done and watch for any indications for the onset of labor like spotting, backache and radiating pain into the thighs etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.

Hello,
Thanks for writing again.
Effacement is the thinning of the cervix that occurs before the cervix begins to dilate. In those women with a weak cervical muscle tone, the cervix can dilate even before effacement and in such instances, there is a chance that the membranes may rupture earlier.
If this is your first pregnancy, you may take a little while, say, up to 8 hours at least after contractions start. If you have already given birth, you will take lesser time, based on the intensity of contractions.
The fact that you have not had any contraction so far and also the fact that the membranes are intact means that observation is the best option at this stage, to give the baby a little more time to deliver. In the event of any unwanted feature like leakage of membranes or fetal jeopardy, immediate delivery becomes necessary, even with induction of labor. Therefore, it would be better if you remain under medical supervision from now on.
Hope I have answered your query. Please get back if you need any more information. I will be ready to help.
