What Causes Water Retention And Painful Swelling In Back?
Question: Thank you. I have always had issues with water retention and take a prescription water pill - 50mg. However, recently I have swelling all over - even my back, hips, every where. Pain worst in the back - like pressure. Have no heart disease, high blood pressure, cholesterol . . .nothing but some water retention and arthritis in my back and neck.
Brief Answer:
Kidney disease can be the reason.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Swelling does not appear for no reason. The most common reasons are heart failure or kidney issues.
High blood pressure is a kidney issues factor. Back pain can be a sign of kidney infection. Your urine can be foamy with this problem as well.
I suggest you to have some tests done. Please start with urine analysis, blood work. Protein in the urine is a sign of kidney diseases and needs further investigation.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
