What Causes Watery Eyes And Chaffed Eyelids?

Question: my eyes are excessively tearing and my eyelids are chaffed also when I wake I have a light crust
Brief Answer:
Allergic blepharitis.
Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us .
The steroid cream which you used is bound to help in your case. The tearing and crust in the morning suggests that there is some infection as well.
To begin with use antibiotic eye drops, 5 to 6 times a day to take care of infection. As this helps we will not need steroids to start.
So let us start with antibiotic drops and ointment, then if irritation persists then use steroids as a last resort.
Do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.

Brief Answer:
Conjunctivitis.
Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Good of you to get back to me.
This is bacterial infection. You need not be too close to get this infection. This is a contact infection One person touches an object and infects it.You touch it it and get infection. The moment you touch your eyes you get conjunctivitis.
Continue with antibiotic drops and ointment and both will be fine.
You have to break this cycle to prevent others from getting infection.
