sometimes I experience itching, sometimes burning and am sexually active
Brief Answer:
It might be vaginal infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,goodday.Thanks for the information.
In my opinion as the discharge is associated with itching and urinary symptoms it might be due to vaginal infection.
The vaginal discharge can be physiological or pathological.
Usually physiological discharge is present during the normal menstrual cycle. It is mucoid ,white discharge and varies with different phases of cycle. It is not associated with itching or any symptoms.
The pathologicaldischarge is present in the infection.Vaginal infections are of various reasons:-
1)Trichomoniasis:-It is yellowish or greenish and associated with itching ,foul smelling and urinary symptoms.
2)Candidiasis is a yeast infection where in there is curdy white discharge and severe itching.
3)Vaginal discharge associated with itching and urinary symptoms is also seen in chlamydia, gonorrheal infection.
Definite diagnosis is only possible after physical examination and necessary investigations.
Investigations like culture and sensitivity of vaginal discharge might be helpful.
Complete urine examination might be needed to rule out urinary infection.
Nothing to worry. It will subside with adequate treatment.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss further.
