Posted on Wed, 21 Dec 2016
Question: Doctor have been experiencing dramatic unexplained weight loss the past 12 or so days as well as headaches, and weakened bones as they seen to Crack very easily and frequently. My bowel movements have been more infrequent and when u do have a movement the result is smaller than it would usually be and in pieces.

I've been to the doctor and hospital and had blood work and an xray of my stomach done and nothings come up. I'm hiv negative with no risky activity to worry about that. I'm getting thyroid blood work tomorrow but I feel very certain that's going to come up negative and I'm not sure what I should do from there as I feel like I'm running out of time to figure out what's wrong.

Brief Answer:
SUDDEN WEIGHT LOSS

Detailed Answer:
DEAR XXXX,
SORRY FOR THE AGONY YOU ARE UNDERGOING.
YOU HAVE STATED THAT THERE IS SUDDEN WEIGHT LOSS BUT YOU HAVE HOT STATED HOW MUCH WEIGHT YOU LOST IN 12 DAYS.

SUDDEN HEAVY WEIGHT LOSS DURING THIS SHORT DURATION CAN OCCUR ONLY IN TWO CONDITIONS, ONE IS THAT YOU HAVE COMPLETELY NOT EATEN ANYTHING DURING THESE DAYS DUE TO MANY CAUSES OR YOU HAD ENOUGH DEHYDRATION DUE TO LOSS OF WATER FROM THE BODY DUE TO EXCESSIVE SWEATING CAUSED BY FEVER OR ANY OTHER REASON. DUE TO LOSS OF SODIUM FROM THE BODY WITH ENOUGH OF WATER OR OTHER FLUID LOSS GIVES RISE TO RATTLING BONY PAINS.

THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ANY SERIOUS ILLNESS LIKE NEOPLASTIC PROBLEM IN WHICH WEIGHT LOSS IS SLOW OVER A PERIOD OF MONTHS.

I FEEL YOU NEED CORRECTION OF WATER AND ELECTROLYTE (SODIUM & POTASSIUM) PROBLEM WITH OVER THE COUNTER AVAILABLE PAIN KILLER UNDER THE ADVICE OF YOUR DOCTOR AND YOUR PROBLEM SHOULD BE REDRESSED.

I WILL BE GLAD TO ANSWER IF YOU HAVE OTHER QUIRREY.
TRULY,
DR. J. TICKU
