Brief Answer:
Must keep a watch
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Weak heart muscles is not as serious as ischemic heart disease (actual heart attack). This is an age related condition and a slow progressive one. This may present with symptoms but not severe. Treatment of this condition is with medications you are on, success with the medication is limited anyway.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.

I already know everything in your answer. My question was: What does
weak heart muscles have to do with causing severe pain in throat upon
exertion. The reason for the question is, I began having symptoms as long
ago as 10 years but was so seldom and so suttle, I contributed it to acid
reflux and mostly ignored until a month ago.

Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
Weak heart muscles or any other cardiac illness would not present with throat pain. If its the chest pain, it could be due to heart muscle ischemia.
You may have to get your throat evaluated by an ENT specialist.
Wish you good health.
