Question : i am taking ultram for a lower back pain(left side sciatic pain). i noticed my urine stream is not strong. would ultram cause this side reaction? XXXXXXX XXXX YYYY@YYYY .

Eeak urine stream is due o Enlarged Prostate and needs to be evaluated .

Hello
Thanks for query .You have been taking Ultram for low back ache and have noticed your urine stream to be weak .

Weak urine stream at the age of 77 years is mostly due to Enlarged Prostate which is common at this age .

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

In the mean while start taking Tomsulosin ince daily .This will help you to improve urine flow .
