What Causes Weakness In Legs And Balance Issues In An Elderly Man?
Question: My dad for the last 2 weeks started with his legs feeling weak. His legs just give way underneath him and he falls. I am so worried whats wrong or what could be wrong. Dad has been sent for an xray tomorrow and having other investigations. What could be wrong and will he ever be able to walk again with correct treatment? He is only 67

I think it's too early for you to bother this much. I understanding it could be very hard and difficult.
A proper clinical review from a doctor is however needed. Diseases like Guillain Barre syndrome that present as such with steroid therapy early generally reverses the condition. Blood tests to measure blood potassium levels could be important. Changes in serum potassium could present with intermittent limb weakness.
I think it's a good idea to get an x Ray done. Seeing A Dr for other blood tests and a proper clinical review is important. It's so early to worry much. With a proper review a it sounds,his condition should be reversible.
