What Causes Weakness In Shoulders And Arms Upon Waking?

Question: I have been concerned about a feeling of weakness in my shoulders and arms - especially upon rising in the mornings. I work out fairly heavily but my energy seems to be waning - especially since menopause. I do have high bp - and take medication to control it. Lisinopril 20 mg 2x/day. Weakness eventually subsides as the day goes on - usually approximately 2 hours into the morning.

Of course,menopause can result in such symptoms commonly.Some points which merit attention here-
1)Since when you are taking Lisinopril?Can you relate it to your symptoms somehow?
2)Please meet your Gynaecologist and discuss if she wants to put you on some post menopausal hormone therapy.
3)Some of the investigations should be done-

Thyroid function tests
serum calcium(ionic and non-ionic)
serum vitamin D levels
Serum electrolytes
Blood sugar

Abnormalities in the above investigations may also result in such symptoms.
