Question: I have weakness in my left arm. When I grip anything for an extended time, my bicep begins to shake. I have a jittery sensation in my left thigh. I have no appetite. I feel hungry, but food is not appealing. I am scared to death that I have ALS.

Brief Answer:
Get examined and investigated by a Neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is characterized by wasting, weakness and flickering of muscle.
Inability to hold heavy objects for long with shaking may normally occur after the muscle is fatigued due to over exertion.

Over the thigh region, do you have any flickering of muscle?
Any stress, sleep disturbances? Please avoid excessive tea or coffee.
Take plenty of fluids and fruits.
Do regular muscle strengthening exercises.
You can also visit to a Neurologist for a detailed examination and investigation.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
Do get back to me for further information.
