Brief Answer:
Need physical check up to find the cause / specific management

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for the query under Health care magic platform. I have read it & understand your concern.
Overall weakness , specially noted in legs .. off & on , without any pain or cramps in legs or lower spine( no possibility of neurogenic cause) can be due to following causes-
- Iron deficiency anemia... seems to be possible as your doctor has prescribed Iron . You need to add protein rich diet with vitamins ( C, B12, folic acid ) to enhance the effect. If it is less than 8 gms%..injectable iron ( > 6 gms blood transfusion my be thought of. Consult the treating doctor for the necessity.
-Diseases involving heart, lungs, kidneys also need to be excluded/ treated as per need.
- Over use of muscles with calcium & vitamin D deficiency can cause intermittent weakness as you have it.
- Low sodium levels in blood can cause muscle weakness in legs with cramps The anti depressant ( Sertraline ) you are taking is known to cause it .. please discuss it with the treating doctor.
- Psychological depression itself can cause such symptoms.. you are already taking medication .. but self efforts to have positive mentality would certainly make difference Follow mind concentration exercises like yoga.. pranayama.. meditation for it./ consult your psychiatrist about dose or change of medication.
- Hormonal problems like thyroid or diabetes should be tested for
- Muscle problems like fibromyalgia, myopathies, myestheniagravis need to be excluded.
- Smoking or alcohol can lead to such problem.
* In short I would suggest consultation & through health check up by an experienced physician followed by needful investigations to confirm the cause followed by cause specific treatment.
* Self care-
- Follow the medicinal plan as per advise.
- Add milk, pulses, egg, meat / vegetables, salads , sprouts/ Fruits/curd, fermented food/ plenty of water
- Have regular physical work outs/ meditation. Avoid no use or over use of muscles.
- No smoking/ alcohol.
- massage & hot water bath daily.

Thus treatment & self care would help you to get rid of / take care of the weakness that bothers you to disturb your activities.
I hope the answer was both useful & informative to you.Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.
