What Causes Weakness While Having Diabetes?
Question: Dear Experts,
My mother is type 2 diabetic with hypertension from last 10 years. I am consulting with one of the doctor in XXXXXXX and he advised to take Gemer Forte 2 (morning and night) with insulin (20 in morning and 12 in night). Initially when we had given 8 unit of insulin one time in a day her sugar went down to 45 and 50 consecutive two nights. So we consulted the doctor again and he suggested not to give insulin but after that her PPBS is going > 250 so we decided to give just 4 or 5 unit of insulin
and now its working fine for her expect she is complaining sometime of weakness, extreme burp but not always. Generally this problem occurs in night or early morning.
Kindly suggest what to do for it.
Current Medicine: And Rozat 10

Brief Answer:
Vitamin B12 supplementation would reduce weakness.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM. After going through your query, it is understood that sugar levels are under control as of now. So, please continue the same medication. Coming to the weakness, it is most common in Diabetics. one of the most common reasons being Vitamin B12 deficiency. So give her Methylcobalamin (B 12) supplementation like Neurokind or Meconeuron 1500mcg tablet once daily after food in the afternoon. This slowly reduces weakness by about two months time.
let her not be in empty stomach. let her take small sugar free snacks when ever hungry. This relieves both Burp and weakness.
Thank you sir,
