Posted on Wed, 18 May 2016
Question: Iam addicted to caterpress , I take twenty 150mil per night, plus3or 4endep 50mil and 2 or 3imerest 7mil I've been doing this for twenty years, I went to rehab for this in 2002 then I married the love of my life, later that year I was back on ten 150 mil. That had been stable, for ten yrs, then my husband and I were in an auto accident my husband died about four hours after this happened , I am so foolish because it has just been rising my usage of caterpress to twenty per night, then if I wake up I take more, I was taken to hospital a few months ago because I fell over in my room . I only had taken 8 caterpress that night, I told them that that was how many I had that night, didn't let them know how many I usually take, then they said I tried to kill myself, that was not true.. They didn't believe me.. Is it a usual symptom to gain weight,??? What else could I be doing to the insides of my body

Hello, and thanks for your question.

You ask if Catapres can cause weight gain, and other adverse effects. It can absolutely cause weight gain. Other adverse effects include low blood pressure, falls, headache, blurry vision, and gastrointestinal upset. The number you are taking is shockingly high and very dangerous. You need to detox off this immediately.

Detailed Answer:
It would be too dangerous to detox yourself at home, as there is a risk of hypertensive urgency, brain bleeding, and death without careful monitoring. You need to take responsibility for your health and seek treatment for this very serious addiction. It cannot be done on your own.

I iam just so nervous to get help, because last time I went to rehab sorry detox it was suppose to be a 5 day program , they kept me in there for a month, I don't know why?? It was a locked down facility, I felt like I was in gaol. No visitors only a pay phone to have contact with the outside world. My family need me my son would not cope without me, last time he stayed with his father but his dad is no longer in the picture. Is it mandatory to go to detox before rehab??

Welcome back..

Yes, you must go to detox before rehab. It's a thorough process and can't jump from one step to another. Please try to understand what I'm saying.
