What Causes Weird Sounds In Chest And Persistent Cough Along With Yellow Phlegm?

Question: I have a crackling sound in my chest and constant coughing with some yellow phlegm coming up. Can you tell me what to do and what this could be?
Brief Answer:
Lower respiratory infection most likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to lower respiratory infection. As there is yellow phlegm it should be most likely bacterial and you need antibiotics.
I would suggest antibiotic like Co-amoxiclav in such case. Mucolytics will be helpful to expell sputum also. You can consult your GP for this. If you having a high fever chest X ray should be taken to rule out pneumonia also.
Take warm fluids like tea with lemon and honey, warm chicken soup with pepper, chewable vitamin C.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
