Brief Answer:
candidiasis, antifungal, maintain tongue hygiene

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.

The pasty feel and white coating could be because of the fungal infection like candidiasis. according to your history of drugs, the steroid(prednisolone) decreases the immunity and long term antibiotics kills the normal microbial flora, these two ways makes you develop candidiasis.

The candidal inection produces a white coat or patch on the tongue. the white coat could be because of the food debris also or because of elongation of papillae.
The other possibilities could be lichen planus and leukoplakia.

Consult your oral physician and get yourself completely examined to rule out these things.
If I am your treating doctor I would have prescribed topical antifungal agents like candid mouth paint, advised to clean the tongue properly.

You have not told about the medical history like if you have diabetes then there are more chances of developing fungal infection.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
