What Causes White Discharge Of Mucus While Passing Stool?
Please follow the suggestions below..
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
Wish your baby long and happy life!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
You shouldn't worry about colon cancer for two reasons:
1. Stool with mucus isn't necessary a sign of colon cancer, especially if you have a small amount of mucus that is normal in most of the people.
2. You have done colonoscopy 8 months ago and nothing can be happened during such a short time.
Large amounts of stool mucous may be due to:
- Anal fissure
- IBS
- Parasitic bowel infection
- Inflammatory bowel disease.
I need to know more of your medical data like: stool blood, change in bowel movement?
For the moment I suggest to wait at the end of this month and meantime:
- Take plenty of water
- Increase foods reached in fiber.
- use probiotics
-avoid unnecessary stress
Hope it is helpful.

Your symptoms are not indicative for colon cancer
Detailed Answer:
Hi back
Thank you providing more of your medical data.
Usually during pregnancy it is normal to have hemorrhoid and blood stools.
Please bear in mind your symptoms are not indicative for colon cancer.
Hemorrhoids, anal fissure, bowel infection explain your symptoms. Probiotics are live microorganisms, OTC meds that help to stabilize gut bacterial flora.
For the moment I suggest to avoid constipation:
- use plenty of water
- use vegetables, fruits
- use olive oil
- use preparation H for hemorrhoids.
If your mucous amount increase than discuss with your doctor to perform
- Full colonoscopy,
-fecal exam tests like candida, parasites and coproculture.
Wishing you and your baby all the best.

Thank you for your email. I will speak with my doctor. What worries me the most is that white mucus that comes along with the stools. I have also been taking normacol plus to ease the stools during pregnancy and I am also taking it now.
The doctor told me that considering that I had done the rectosigmodoscopy and everything was ok, this white mucus would not be indicative of anything serious, as symptoms like white mucus are related to that part of intestines. Is this correct?
