What Causes White Marks On Nails Of Fingers?
Beau's lines
Detailed Answer:
Hi...by what you quote these appear like Beau's lines which are an indirect evidence that there might have been an illness in the kid from which the kid has now recovered. These are not suggestive of present illness. Do not worry.
There are several causes of Beau's lines. It is believed that there is a temporary cessation of cell division in the nail matrix. This may be caused by an infection or problem in the nail fold, where the nail begins to form, or it may be caused by an injury to that area. Some other reasons for these lines include trauma, hypocalcaemia, and skin disease. They may be a sign of systemic disease, or may also be caused by an illness of the body, as well as malnutrition. This might be due to deficiency of multi vitamins too.
As the nail grows out, the ridge visibly moves upwards toward the nail edge and gradually these disappear after the nail grows well.
I am sorry to say that I did not find any image attached to your query. Please upload one. Nails are appendages of skin and skin conditions are best diagnosed only after seeing directly. I suggest you to upload photographs of the same on this website, so that I can guide you scientifically.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. Wish your kid good health.
