What Causes White Particles In Stool Of Child?
Question: Hello,
About 3 weeks ago I began noticing white flakes in my 2 year old's stool. She doesn't like to poop, so she holds it for a couple of days at a time. When she does go, it is hard and looks like it's been lightly sprinkled with parmesan cheese. The white flakes are mostly consentrated tip of the stool, but it does ocassionally run the entire length of it. I've shown it to her pediatrician, who suggested that maybe she was eating uncooked rice. She isn't eating uncooked rice. What could this be?

Brief Answer:
It is likely to be due to undigested food matter in stool

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through the query. The first thing that I would ask is the age of the child. The next thing that I would suggest is to get a stool microscopy done. It seems that the whitish flakes are due to undigested matter in stool but could also be due to worms and the stool microscopy would make things clear.
