What Causes White Patches, Peeling Skin And Redness Around The Groin Region?

Please apply medicine and follow instructions
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
The pictures sent by you point to a likely diagnosis of ring worm infection. This is usually also accompanied with a lot of itching in the groin and buttocks and is very common fungal infection. As you have applied many creams, I suggest you continue to apply ointment containing clotrimazole (CANDID B Cream is still among the good ones) in the affected areas twice a day for 15 days to a month. Also apply CANDID B powder in the areas when you dress up before leaving home. this will control infection during the day. If the redness and patches do not improve even after a month of application applying medications and following instructions then please consult a dermatologist for oral anti fungal tablets. Oral tablets are powerful and given only when the infection is not cured with ointments.
You must also take following precautions:
1. Wash your genitals and groin area twice daily with warm water.
2. Wipe genitals and buttocks dry after having bath.
3. Wear loose cotton inner clothes to absorb sweat and keep the area dry.
4. Please avoid itching
5. Trim your pubic hairs regularly
6. Make sure your under wear is completely dry before wearing it
7. Do not stay wearing wet clothes in case you get wet in rains
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,
Thanks for writing in with an update.
I agree that you may have a larger area affected so ointments are not working well.
As far as prescribing medicines online is concerned, www.healthcaremagic.com strongly follows e health policy guidelines which does not permit prescribing medications online.
However we can tell you the drugs which will work best in your situation when taken orally.
You may take any one of the following:
1. Tablet containing Fluconazoe 50 to 100 mg once daily for 2 to 3 weeks or
2. Tablet containing Itraconazole 100 mg daily for 2 weeks or
3. Tablet containing Terbinafine 250 mg daily for 1 to 2 weeks
Please ask your doctor and pharmacist for dose guidelines as mentioned in prescription or package.
Certain medications may cause side effects so please be cautious while taking them.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek
