What Causes White Spots On The Throat Indicate?
Question: Hello,
I have had really gross white spots/patches on my throat for over 4 weeks. I noticed them 4 days after I had unprotective oral sex with a male. I was tested for strep, mono, gonorrhea and chlamydia, which all came back negative. I only had a sore throat for two days. I was given a z pack and amoxicillin to clear up anything that may have been bacterial. I was then given a steroid to decrease inflammation of my tonsils. I was retested for mono again and they performed a routine blood test which all came back normal. The spots have gotten much worse, nearly covering the entirety of my tonsils. I began to run a slight fever yesterday and it continued today. I also noticed today..that I had a small scab/opening where I had my wisdom teeth removed 8 years ago. Is this just a viral infection or is it possible that something more serious is going on? Should I be tested for anything in addition to those infections/STDs? Thank you!

After thoroughly analyzing the complete query let me reassure you first that overall your problem doesn't appear to be related to any Sexually transmitted infection.
It basically appear to be viral in origin. In case of ot had been bacterial in or gin then must have got better by the course of antibiotics you had taken.
In viral infection of throat it takes longer to get better than usual. In general if it had been of any bacterial Sexually transmitted infection origin then would have got better by antibiotic course.
In your kind of cases it starts as viral origin routinely and later on gets secondarily infected with bacteria.
I suggest you to a throat swab culture done to get a proper antibiotic sensitivity or a higher antibiotic could be taken to control the infection.
Allay your stress for any Sexually transmitted infection and relax yourself.
