Brief Answer:
mucous

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that your child at 8 weeks old is having white strings in their stools. These white stringy material is mucous. This mucous is there to help lubricate the stool and allow it to pass easily. This is normal and nothing to be concerned about. I would recommend that you add more water to her formula or give her a small bottle of water

If you are breast feeding then you can help by increasing your fluid which will help keep your milk be less concentrated.
