What Causes Whitish Lesion On The Penis Head?
Question: Have white scar tissue covering the head of my penis. Urologist says it is from fungal infections. Dermatologist sais it was vitiligo. Ugly and itching. Need to at least improve the appearance. Are there any cosmetic procedures available?
Not a lesion according to urologist but scar tissue. Covers more than half of the head of my penis. Will develop small cracks or flakes exposing red/orange skin which thin white tissue covers over. Skin of the shaft is lighter than normal. Urologist said it is "blanched" from fungal infection(s). Burning sensation when showering or bathing. Would photos help? Have an appointment with my GP later today. Will ask about scrapping test.
GP said biopsy not recommended at this time. Thinks it's fungal, will reevaluate in 3 months. How common is white discoloration on penis? Doctor thought it was unusual place for vitiligo or fungus.

Brief Answer:
diagnosis by scrapping test
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX ..
Welcome to hcm.
Whitish lesion on penis head can be fungal in nature if it's itching and raised above surface.
Vitiligo is not raised above surface, is unsightly but do not cause itching.
You better get reviewed by a physician at your place, get a srapping from local lesion tested in the laboratory for any Fungal elements.
A local and oral antifungal may be of curative value if it turns out to be fungal.
Vitiligo at this site hardly needs any treatment, if very preoccupied with aesthetics then local camouflage may help.
I hope the advise will be helpful for you.
