What Causes Whitish Spongy Tissue At The Entrance Of Vagina?
Question: Hi. I was wondering what this large whitish spongy lump/tissue right in the entrance of my vagina could be?! It has not always been there. I just noticed it today. It was not there about a year ago.
Brief Answer:
Can be a normal variation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
I have seen the image attached. The whitish spongy tissue seems to be normal vaginal wall rugosities. This is not an abnormal tissue. If you can palpate any well defined lump under the mucosa then a Bartholin's cyst needs to be ruled out after a direct examination. Such a mucosal tag can hang out if you have a frequent intercourse.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
