What Causes Whole Body Swelling In The Morning?
Heart, kidney;occlusion of blood vessels in legs to rule out as following...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am sorry for the situation you are in.
Can you please tell if you feel swollen all over your body or in some parts (face? legs?)
1. You are saying to take HTCZ, which is a diuretic. This makes me think that you are having problems with high blood pressure.
If this is true, then, waking up swollen (edema) is referring for possible heart issues (heart failure). Further cardiac tests are advised to rule heart issues out:
- ECG
- echocardiogram
- lipid profile
2. You are also saying that your urine is very pale; which makes me think it's diluted perhaps due to HTCZ (diuretic) use.
Kidney problems should be also ruled out as they might be possible causes to edema:
- urine analysis
- kidney function test
- abdominal ultrasound
- complete blood count
3. If the swelling is localized only on your legs, then, occlusion of legs' blood vessels should be ruled out through echo Doppler.
4. For the moment, until you see your doctor and run the recommended tests, I advise to:
- limit salt intake
- increase dosage of HTCZ
- raise your legs when laying or sitting
Hope it was of help!
