Brief Answer:
observe your child’s eating pattern

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Greetings.. !!!

It’s good to know that your mother has profited from the diet that was suggested for her.

There is nothing to worry about the wrinkles that appear on skin when it is soaked in water. The reason for this change in appearance of skin is that when it is exposed to water the top most layer of skin absorbs water and swells. These results in increased skin surface area and hence wrinkle to accommodate it. I am sure that his fingers appear normal after sometime as the hands begin to dry.
Nail biting is actually an oral compulsive habit, and requires child’s counseling and positive approach from the parents. Although it is not a serious matter but if the problem continues then you may seek your family doctor or pediatrician’s advice to help your child overcome this habit.

As far as the diet is concerned, it is important for you to observe your child’s eating pattern, as the children’s eating behaviors are unique and cannot be generalized. As long as he is taking his meals on time and with interest all is be good. Include whole grains, milk and its products, fruits, vegetables and dals or legumes ( non-veg also if you take it), along with plenty of fresh beverages and other healthy drinks. Too much of processed and preserved foods would not be good.

Encourage the child to eat homemade foods over the snacks and fast foods. These foods do not accomplish the actual nutritional requirements but fills the stomach and hence kills the appetite for real food. It is fine to take such foods occasionally, but never as a replacement of meals, even while you are travelling. Maintain timings and composition of his meals and make sure that you also follow the good eating habits to encourage your child.

As long as the child is active, happy and gains height and weight steadily, there is nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps, please feel free to contact me for further discussion.
