What Causes Wrist Pain After Treatment Of Wrist Fracture?

saw my ORTHO yesterday - he told me that I'm "all healed" and he wants me out of my removable cast as much as possible.
I type and write a lot at work and am doing so today without my cast, and my wrist hurts so much! He told me to not be concerned by this nor the swelling.
I am, however, still very scared and concerned - the last 9 weeks have been so very, very difficult - I have not missed any work related to my injury.
Does all of this "sound" normal?
Yes, this sounds very normal for such injury.

Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Yes this is typical for such injuries. It can take few months (usually 3 months counted from the day your cast were removed) before you will get back to the condition before the fracture. During that time bone is still rebuild. Moving and putting pressure on the healed area makes bone rebuild and healing more effective. So you need to work and start using the wrist step by step. It should be better with every week.
If its still concerning for you, please consider to have another X-ray. This should tell if the bones are located property and if the healing process is correct. If the x-ray will tell that everything is fine, you need to be patient.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
