What Causes Yellow Discoloration In Semen?
Here is some information:
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,
Some of the causes of yellow semen are urine in the semen, jaundice (elevated bilirubin) and excessive numbers of white blood cells in the semen.
If the semen is a yellowish-green color, it can be from a prostate infection.
Since it has been a week and has not resolved, I'd advise going in to the doctor to get checked. The doctor may want to get a urine specimen, possibly a semen specimen, and may test for STDs (possibly chlamydia or gonorrhea). Usually with STDs, the semen has a bad odor, and in the case of chlamydia, there may be pain during ejaculation.
So, it would be reasonable to see a doctor now for further evaluation.
One other thing - if you have recently started a multivitamin that contains vitamin B, that can color urine and semen yellow too.
I hope this information helps.
May not be infection but only way to tell is with exam/tests.
Detailed Answer:
It's possible that you don't have an infection, or maybe it is a low grade infection. But without an exam, it is hard to tell. Best to go in where the doctor can look at the color of your eyes, possibly check your prostate, and order some lab work.
