default
Posted on Wed, 1 Jul 2015
Question: Hello, I have 1 small yellowish bump on my vulva. I had a full std screening including a herpes blood test about two weeks ago but all was negative. The bump dies not burn or itch. Until the doctor can see me, how can I tell if the spot is herpes or a cyst.

Brief Answer:
can be a lipoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Herpes lesions usually are associated with burning sensation, so it's likely a lipoma. If you can send a photograph of the lesion, it will help in making the diagnosis.
Please do get back to me with the information, if feasible.

Brief Answer:
unlikely to be herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for responding. This lesion is likely to be a simple cyst in the vulva. It can be epidermal inclusion cyst or a small lipoma.
It is a single isolated lesion, so it is unlikely to be herpes.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Please do get back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
Regards,
Dr Deepti Verma.
