Brief Answer:
Hello,

Detailed Answer:
Hello, dear, welcome to ask a doctor services. I have read your question.

You are getting zap like pain in your upper arm that comes & goes. You had echo, ecg & cholesterol test done, it showed normal report.

The area affected is tender to touch & the pain you feel is only for a few seconds and at the same place always. Commonly, such type of pain is due to some neurological injury.

Prolonged/ heavy exercises, sports injury, lifting heavy weight, etc can cause stretching or compression of the brachial plexus nerves & hence the symptoms. You can apply topical pain killers / ointments on the area affected for relieve.

You are suggested to get in contact with a physical therapist. Certain exercises help to restore flexibility in the stiff muscles and joints. It will help improve the function & mobility in the arms/hand and also relieve pain.

Regular exercises improve blood flow and reduce pain & discomfort. Control blood glucose level at all cost, take balanced home made food to help reduce and slow down nerve damage.

Take food good for the nerves like almonds, avocados, salmon, green leafy vegetables, food rich in vitamin C, E, B, magnesium. You can even take supplements. If obese control your weight.

However, it is suggested to get USG, CT or MRI done if symptoms persist to detect detailed image of the soft tissue & bones. This is to stay on the safer side.

Sometimes, pain in the left arm may be indicative of developing CAD(carotid artery disease), get repeat lipid function tests done. If the reports are not normal you may need clinical examination by a Cardiologist.

Avoid oily food, trans fat, red meat, cheese, full fat dairy products. Take food cooked in olive oil for better health. Do regular walking. Stay away from addictions if any.

Hope I have answered your question. If you need, do contact me for further assistance. Take care.
